Series Overview: Google’s Applied Digital Skills curriculum is an online site with ready-to-use video lessons that teach digital skills that have immediate, real-life application. The majority of the lessons use apps found in Google Drive. In this three-part series, we will cover the basics of G Suite, focusing on why it is so useful for adult education. We will review five apps included in G Suite: Drive, Docs, Sheets, Slides, and Forms. We will explore the Google’s Applied Digital Skills lessons so that each participant can develop their own learning plan towards G Suite Certification, and discuss ways of doing the same with students.
This series is designed for people with little or know previous experience with Google Drive.
Sessions include:
- Session 1: Google Drive and Google Docs 5/22/20
- Session 2: Google Sheets and Google Slides 6/5/20
- Session 3: Google Forms and Google Keep 6/19/20
Session 1: Google Drive and Google Docs In this session, we will review all the tools available in Google Drive and go in depth in how to create, share, and edit Google Docs. We will discuss how Google Docs and Google Drive Folders can be used both for general productivity and as tools for instruction. All participants will log into their own Google Drive, make a folder for the sessions activities and make their own Google Docs.
